To minimise the risk of your CV being rejected due to ageism
- Use a modern sans serif font – Times New Roman is old fashioned
- Don’t start with “I’ve got over 25 years’ experience…”
- Use modern language with positive connotations
- Focus on achievements
- Target your CV summary to the role you are applying
- Use the same tone / language style as the job advert
- Understand your personal value proposition and articulate it well
- Don’t include full address, marital status, children’s ages and names
